A Rainbow in Orbit

Aurora Evans, an English teacher from Alabama, cannot foresee the despair, devastation, and death that arises from a brief family visit to Germany in 1935. Her husband, German-born Nikolaus Adolf Ritter, thrives back in his home country, ascending the military ranks of the Abwehr (Germany’s intelligence agency). Niko is also withholding a seismic secret from Aurora and their two children… a secret that will place him into World War II history books.

Weeks become months; months become years…. Aurora is trapped in Nazi Germany, impoverished and alone. In July 1943, she awakes to the whistle of Allied bombs falling on Hamburg, unleashing a hellish cauldron code-named Operation Gomorrah that melts glass, liquifies asphalt, and annihilates over forty thousand souls within a week.

A Rainbow in Orbit is a World War II historical fiction based on the true survival story of espionage, kidnapping, and escape from Germany.
